Why landscaping is important for the value of your property

As Australians, indoor/outdoor living is an easy concept to grasp - with consideration to our year ‘round pleasant weather and beautiful native animals. It makes sense to enhance and enjoy our outdoor lifestyles but quite often when it comes to renovations, refinancing or selling, the importance of this aspect can be under-estimated. Your landscape investment can have a direct stance on the market value of a property.

Various studies conducted have proven that implementing a landscaping plan has added significant increases to the overall value of homes. In particular, a report conducted by Landscape Economist, John Harris, showed that in some cases where landscaping was implemented with good quality, value increased by 28%. Those first impressions are imperative and the first thing your evaluators or buyers (or even just guest!) are going to see, is your curb appeal (or lack thereof!).

According to the National Association of Realtors Remodeling Impact Report, curb appeal was important to 98% of buyers when choosing their home. Small additions such as well maintained garden beds and fresh healthy grass can make a world of difference but depending on the demographic and/or geographical position, additions such as decking, paving and driveways are the crowd-pleaser. In which case, a good designer is required.
